BG in Process while test completed - Citizenship Applicants

Starting a new thread for the applicants whose test has been completed but their back ground check is still in process. Let’s pass on to each other any new update we receive.

Do any of you have any idea what's going on?
I called IRCC last week and the guy simply told me to wait, keep checking my application online, and that I should only call them back if my processing time was above the average shown on the website, meaning after 17 months of wait. That got me so frustrated, honestly.. I have 6 friends + my husband who applied the same week as I did and they're all Canadian already.

it is so frustrating when you see most applications are keep going pretty well, while ours are stuck for unknown reason. I submitted my application July 29th and my test completed on October 6th, and nothing since then! My processing office is Mississauga!

Agreed, it is quiet strange. Below is my timeline for reference. It seems like MTL is a bit slow.

now it’s a waiting game. Passed security and criminality in progress as was as LPP. I feel like asking for fingerprints prolongs the application process

You’re lucky im still waiting for the fingerprints request not the letter, it took a long time for me. Hopefully your BG will be completed soon

Thank you I really hope so. Hopefully, they complete your application asap. It’s crazy how you had to reapply because of their fault !! I hope things go smoothly for you

I am a July AOR applicant, and the test completed in August, fingerprints were received by IRCC in September. Still waiting for background clearance.

Looking at this thread looks like I am under security screening. I don't know what IRCC wants to know about my boring existence.

I ordered ATIP 5 times during this time. security section was blank.
then i reached out to MPs office. they told me there is nothing they can do as the application is within the processing time.
spoke to IRCC agents three times and they told me that application is not with them and they are waiting for checks from other institutions
got frustrated and applied for ATIP from CSIS. they sent me a letter that they can not share the information under some section as per the law.
basically all the doors were shut and no one cared to share any information

Thanks for sharing your experience. I also looked at some other applicants' posts who were in a similar situation. Basically it takes about 8-10 months for background completion after AOR.

Correct me if I’m wrong - so it is only the security part that takes a very long time? I passes security and got a FP request shortly after and I submitted it on Nov 4th.
