Hello everyone,
I am currently in relationship with person based in Montreal area. I visited her for 3 weeks earlier this year for holidays and we've been going steady long distance too. Now our plans have progressed that we would be able to look into moving together to a shared apartment around Montreal area, meaning that I am looking to immigrate to the area.
I am 33 years old male from Finland. I have degree (2nd) in computer sciences and I have over 13 years of real world permanent work experience in my fields of expertise. I have had steady jobs for my whole adult life and actually own a house here in Finland too. I am financially stable and English is quite decent for me, that counts verbally as well, French on the other hand not so much. I have no underlying medical problems and I am quite healthy I suppose, normal dude.
My question to you all is, what kind of programs and information should I focus on? My biggest "problem" at the moment is that I have a great job currently and I have discussed with my employer already me moving aboard. Employer supports my choice and is more than willing to keep me in employment and I would be able to do all work remotely (I do remote work a lot "locally" too). Does this hinder my chances of being able to stay for extended time? Am I forced to get a local job from Montreal in order to get permanent resident possibilities? I would be able to completely handle financial side from my income here in Finland on Canadian side, does this cause over lapse in taxes too?
Thanks for any extra info!
