MBNA used to stand for Maryland Bank North America. Then in 2006 it was bought by Bank of America as a base for Canadian operations.

If you are a Bank of America customer you get fee free withdraws from Scotia bank ATMs(other than foreign currency/exchange fees)

Also, I am a US citizen who travels to Canada frequently so in order to avoid fees i opened a TD bank account as an American. Really saves on fees(thats a tip for anyone who hates the fees home banks charge)

Until i got a Capital One which you have to pay a $70 fee a year
After 2 years i applied for TD Visa an gpt aproved
