Hi - we just received our first GCMS notes.., and other than many indications of "not started" (after all this time) there is this one note that may or may not be as obvious as one might interpret...

Anyone know of instructions available on how to assess the status of your application based on these notes in general?

here's the note I mentioned above; PAPER FILE TRANSFER HISTORY

So this is how it appears. Any ideas? Especially regarding "Location: FCU Interview to be scheduled"

Thanks in advance for any responses from those who know what to make of this

What does your file say under NOTES? It's the very last section of GCMS. It might help to add some light as to if it's an actual interview or something else.

Yes. Thanks. Under "NOTES 1"

Same date

"Text: File Reviewed Interview Recommended"

Looks like an interview was recommended a month ago, but no follow thru on the recommendation ::)

I think it sounds like your wife has an interview coming up and it's the type of interview where they have doubts about your relationship. Did they mention anything about the genuineness of your relationship?

No they didn't. Did yours? You got your second round of notes, right?

I'm supposed to get them this week, it's probably delayed. The first set of notes didn't mention anything about my relationship, just that they shredded my proof of communication and kept sample sets on file, I'm guessing it's because there's a lot in there and they felt it was satisfactory, so they got rid of them?

Its weird, on the GCMS they usually say something negative about the relationship before indicating that an interveiw is required. I think you should order a new set of notes to find out for sure.

No, nothing negative. A mention that we were both previously married and papers checked out...

The cover letter looks a little different (2nd paragraph in particular) from the previous notes I requested and received on her refused visitors visa of July 2013 - does this look similar to your cover letter? ;

Ah. Interesting. So this, [Certain information qualifies for exemption pursuant to section(s) 15(1) International affairs and defence, 16(1)(c) injurious to the enforcement of any law of Canada or a province or the conduct of lawful investigations, 19(1) personal information of the Access to Information Act.,] is maybe as odd and unusual as it sounds ???

Just a quick update in case this thread is helpful to anyone;

Talked with CIC Call Centre Agent and asked about various bits of information on the GCMS notes and what to make of them;
His reply to my question on the "recommended.., and (one month later) required interview" was that this did not necessarily mean or indicate a final determination - that in fact things get passed on to various VO's for a consensus...
Which to me gives a different image of procedure (ie - one VO per case file) than I had imagined. And looking closer, I see that various notes were in fact written by different VO's

Also asked what seems to have been a "dumb question," with regard to the possibility of scheduling the interview (if it happens) at a time that I could also appear - or at least getting any idea of lead time..., anything that might help facilitate the process.... hah! I wish ::)

Seems far fetched, but in fact, scheduling appointment interviews with the US Embassy in Beijing is standard operating procedure. 8)
