Quick backstory:
- I initially came to Canada in 2004 on a work permit (Temporary "9" SIN) and then became PR in 2009 at Lacolle, QC POE and obtained a permanent SIN.
- I renounced my PR status for various reasons in 2016.
- I re-entered Canada on a work permit in 2017 and got back my old "9" SIN.
- I just became PR again in October 2021, eCoPR issued by OSC - Operations Support Centre
Situation:
- My ecas status after issuance of the eCoPR showed correctly that I became PR on October 12 at OSC - Operations Support Centre.
- I went to Service Canada yesterday to update my SIN to the permanent SIN. Service Canada had to "re-instate" my original permanent SIN because when entering in 2017 on the work permit it changed back to my temporary "9" SIN.
- Since the reinstatement of the permanent SIN, my eCAS now shows that I became a PR on October 12, 2021, but it now says that I became PR on this date in Lacolle, Quebec POE (the location where I originally landed to become PR in 2009).
Questions:
- Why did changing my SIN change my landing location in ecas?
- Will this affect my PR Card application which is currently pending? I don't want this to mess with whatever they have to print on the back of the card (Landed at: OSC - Operations Support Centre)
- Is this something I should bring to anyone's attention? IRCC? Service Canada? I was OINP PR applicant so landing in Quebec is not something one would normally do as OINP PR, apart from the fact that it's incorrect information.
I'm just worried that whatever Service Canada did yesterday caused some kind of chain reaction to update all the government systems with incorrect landing information from 2009.
Thanks!
