Hello, I was a permanent resident from 2005 to 2009 and during that period I had SIN number. In 2009 I lost my PR status as I didnt live 730 days in Canada. Now in 2019 I am again a Permanent Resident of Canada as I was Sponsored by my husband. Now I am wondering do I need to go to Service Canada to apply for new SIN number or my SIN number from 2005 is still active and working. On border I asked that question but CBSA officer told that he didnt know. Thank You

Since you are back again I would advise you go visit the nearest service Canada office and check, or can probably call them.

Did you only arrive recently? You will certainly have to be prepared to pay for the birth if this is the case.

I arrived on July 1 and my due date us on the beginning of October, my Heath Card will be ready at the end of September.

What do You think can I find any pay insurance company who will cover all my Costs?

No insurance company is going to give you insurance to cover the cost of a pregnancy, when you are already pregnant. They are not in the business to lose money.

Agree. You have to deliver the baby so there is a payout no matter what so why would an insurance company cover you at this point.

As you were a PR in 2005 to 2009, you would have been issued a permanent SIN number. These SIN's are for life. However, the can lapse. You will need to go to a Services Canada office with your latest id's and proof of current PR to reinstate your original SIN number.
