Hi everyone,

I’m a BC PNP IPG nominee (non-EE). My nomination has already been approved, and I have already submitted my federal PR application.

I’m currently in Canada on a PGWP. My nomination is not tied to any employer. I don’t have a stable full-time job right now, but I do have ongoing income from some freelance work, which is enough to support me and my partner, and around CAD 40k in savings (from my parents).

My partner is Moroccan and is currently doing her master’s in Morocco. We’re planning to get married, and I’m thinking of adding her as an accompanying spouse to my existing PR application after marriage.

I’m not too concerned about processing delays. My main concern is whether adding her now could create any financial eligibility or refusal risk because I don’t have stable employment.

Would CAD 40k in available savings + ongoing income normally be considered sufficient for a couple in this situation? Or would it make any sense to wait until I have a stable job / become PR first and sponsor her later?
