What is the main purpose of the barcode pages. Is it just for the officer to know that your form was filled out correctly or does it provide more information such as when and where it was printed? Random question but I was just wondering.

What is the main purpose of the barcode pages. Is it just for the officer to know that your form was filled out correctly or does it provide more information such as when and where it was printed? Random question but I was just wondering.

I would be pretty certain that it can be scanned at CIC and automatically populates the case indexing information with names, dates of birth etc. We used to use the same sort of things in the financial services company I worked for on scanning and indexing.
