Currently have our application in the order of the document checklist, but noticed in the guide it says to put the barcode pages on top of the application. Should I separate the 2 barcode pages from the forms and still keep them in the order of the checklist? There is also a bar code page for the Work permit application (5710)... should that also go on top of the application? thanks!

So let's say somebody says you should do the other way around, would you take the word of the forum over the CIC guide? 8) Just do as the guide says.

No, they don't mean to put those pages on the actual top alone, but the entire form. So all they mean is to keep the forms that contains a barcode on top, not the page alone.

The OWP is separate from the PR application.

They mean just what it says, putting a barcode page on top of each package. That's how they can scan and attach the docs to the specific case.

IMM 1344 and IMM 0008 form

Click the "Validate" button at the top or bottom of the form.
Note: Validating the form before printing makes sure that you have answered all the questions. This will help you to avoid delays in processing your application.
A last page with barcodes and a signature line will automatically be created.
Print, sign and date the form.
For best results:
print on white, bond-quality, non-glossy paper and
use a laser printer.
Place the barcode page on top of your package. If you have more than one package, place a separate barcode page on each one.

I thought she asked if all bar code pages should be on top of the application. If I remember correctly there are several of them with those weird looking things.

Yeah now Im confused too. I thought the IMM 1344 barcodes should go on top of sponsorship package, and the IMM 0008 barcodes should go on top of the immigration package??

All should go into one package. But lets say that you have a big pile of documents and as many members here you decide to split it into several smaller paper/plastic files, then its good practice to include barcode page on top of every single file so in case it gets split up on an officer desk it can easily find your way into your application/case. Barcode is your application unique identifier, its just a means of extra insurance from mixed up docs.

At the top of the instruction page, it says "this application package includes..." and lists both the sponsorship and PR forms. So if CIC is using their terminology consistently, I agree "package" should mean all of it. On the other hand, the processing is split between Mississauga for sponsorship and another office for PR, so it might be easier for them to have separate "packages" from the start. Personally I sent my application as two separate envelopes in one larger envelope... I think many people here have done something similar.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! I was planning just to mail everything in one big envelope neatly organized. May have to rethink that.

What happens to the application if I sent it in the order of the checklist.
Checklist
Documents
Supporting documents
Yeah I had not read that portion of the guide which said keep barcode pages on top.
Will they return the app? Delay it? Decline it?
