Is there anyone out here who has successfully opened a bank account in canada prior to landing? I am looking at opening one with RBC. Here's the link

I still havent landed ( i will be landing in 2 wks). I wanted to open an account with RBC but waited for 2 weeks and they didnt respond. So instead, I opened with Scotia which replied in less than 2 days. You open an account online, then they will send you an encrypted email with details of your account and that you can transfer up to CAD 50,000. only 1 transaction is allowed prior to your arrival to Canada. The account is then frozen and you cant use it until you land in Canada and visit one of the branches... hope this helps
