Hello,

Hope you'll doing well . I have a question - I have sent my PP and other docs to the VFS for my work permit, I was wondering if there is any way to open an bank account from the US for the payroll purpose without entering Canada? this is an inter-company transfer. I currently live in the US.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

One more option to explore - https://www.hsbc.ca/new-to-canada/applying-from-outside-of-canada/

Few other options are cross border accounts from TD and RBC.

HSBC is worst customer service....I have called them like 7 times and last time I was on hold for almost 4 hours before they answered.
Promised an international banking advisor will call me back to open a new account but didn't get any calls for 2 weeks.
Then I emailed their complaint line and finally someone called, was super rude on the phone.
So I gave up and will be going with RBC...

Were you able to open an RBC account from the US?

I was able to open an account with RBC from USA.
Could you let me know if they set up your account and activated it as well? I was told that I could probably open an account but would need to visit a branch in Canada to activate the account after showing some ID. Thanks so much for clarifying.
