Do we even have any January applicants around here? Bangladeshi that is.

So far, it's pocha and moonlit (unless I missed someone) who got their PPR recently and it'll be couple of weeks before they get their passport back.

I'm interested to see how a1express's case turns out. Hope it's all for the best.

yeah, Bonmanus did u submit ur remedical? i think after verifying ur remed they r gonna ask ur PPR.

I am waiting to see when pocha gets her's back ;D

My husband was out of Dhaka on a tour, he will be submitting passport Sunday InShAllah

BTW I think there is another Bangladeshi member bdg who got PPR. October applicant I believe

Yea, bdg is there too.

I went back few pages of this thread and saw the August/September applicants from last year getting PPR by November :o I still can't believe it!! They might not be going through SVO. I did have a friend go through London VO being done less than 3 months.

thn Bonmanus. thts bdg ???

I went back and this is what I've gathered so far:

ratangm: 28aug-17nov
sham707: 8jul-30oct
sharmita: 1sep-25nov
waiting: 25jun-1oct
JRSM: june-november
bdg: 3nov-9jun

Those are the dates from application filed to PPR. Looks like all are SVO. We can see there is no standard time ??? Besides, everyone's case is different anyways...

its less time for some applicants. waiting for more news.

1. A lawyer is not a requirement; especially if the case is straight forward enough. A lawyer might be preferred when your case is more complicated (for example: previous marriages, previous children, previous criminal record, etc.)

2. You can pay the fees online using any credit card (doesn't even have to be yours).

3. CIC's actual guide is pretty good. And, then there's this forum. Most of your answers are already here somewhere. You can try asking for your unique situations. You should be able to gather most of your documents from Bangladesh. As a sponsor, you might want a copy of your last filed tax return/assessment, bank statements, degrees/diploma...whichever is applicable/available.

4. Go through the application forms and try to fill them up yourself first (rough draft). Make note of your thoughts and questions at any point. Then come back and search here or ask.

5. You can use couriers like FedEx to send your application package to the Mississauga address.

Your main issue will be prove that you will indeed be returning to Canada once everything is approved since you were away for a while. You can show proofs if possible like an address (rental agreement/mortgage) in Canada when you will be returning. You can show admission to college/university in Canada. There are spaces in the application where you can give your own explanations.

You can consult with a lawyer if you are really not comfortable filling in the application yourself. This website/company "Canada Visa" itself is law firm themselves. I believe they have free assessment of sort. I am not making them a recommendation. I just don't have any other contact to share.

Passport submitted to vfs Dhaka. They said approximately 2-3weeks

thnx moonlitnight, :-X im afraid no news from singapore visa office for bangladeshis here

Don't worry. They took 1 whole week for them to move from first of November to end of November (in terms of Bangladeshi applications). You are in February. InShaAllah you will get news within a month :)
