backlog reduction in light of the announced FSW numbers for 2013

As stated in the above link the total number of visas to be issued in 2013 is 53 to 55 thousand for FSW.
I Have read somewhere else that the backlog of FSW is currently 100,000,,,,and since the minster announced several times that the backlog is going to be finished by the end of 2014,,,,,,how realistic does this seem now?

Please bear in mind that a good number of these 2013 visas will be granted to the new applicants who will apply in 2013 and who will most probably have priority over the old ones .....

Is this minster fooling us?

Don't be so dishearted. They are doing their level best to finish this backlog. They have curtailed standard time during different stages. Even this year is not completed yet. They will definitely get rid of this notorious backlog. Because this has become a nightmare for them.

Someone posted a tweet of kenny stating tht the new intake will not be much and would be to test the impact of new points system and education credential assessment

a nightmare for them,,,,I Have the impression that you have more sympathy with CIC than the poor applicants who have been waiting for 8 years and were subject to all the bad decisions and corrupt system of CIC
If it is a nightmare than it is CIC who caused it , not the applicants.
