Why another 4-9 months ?!!
Because it's always better to give more margin so that you don't only feel disappointed but also surprised.
For example, if I think I will get BG complete in 2 months and it doesn't, I'm depressed.
If I think I'll get BG in July 2024 and I get it in December 2023, I'm surprised and happy.

Kind of make me sick in the stomach that I see all these people getting oath and certificates in the Jan 2023 thread when some of us don't even have BG and LPP done...

I shared before the timeline of my friend, who is my age, coming from the same country of origin. His AOR was 16 May 2023, received his passport August 22nd 2023 :), not urgent application, same city.

Yup, there's no rhyme or reason to it

You are comparing apples vs oranges, hehe. Let me quote here "Every case is different, IRCC".
PS: there exist no rhyme in lottery. :p
Honestly we shouldn't always blame IRCC for the mess happening, one of the major reasons for our applications being delayed is the security agencies CBSA and CSIS especially CSIS they are also slow and lazy

My counter argument is IRCC should follow up and give a deadline. I work with government agents and officers and I do that all the time.

Hi,

Starting this thread to gather those with BG in progress for many months.

As you can see from my signature, Background steps have started in March and today we are almost October and it's still in progress.

Wonder how many are on the same boat?
Same boat, no update since May 6 ( FP)
AOR FEB 9
Application received January 30
