Background CSIS check if employed with police

Hi guys, another questions... my spouse is currently employed as a member of the national police in his country. He hasn't lived anywhere else and supplied an official record of all the locations he has served. Will this mean the background check will take a long time, as it does with those who serve(d) in the military?

Police forces are not the same as the military,
So, it should not be treated the same,

What its true is that there is not a time line for Background check,
it could be fast or take long....
And that regardless of occupation..... make your mind for a long waiting .... if its done fast great...

Did you read what @Awesomeg wrote? There is no set timeline. Nothing close. Varies a lot.

We applied in January 2023, sowp file from india send requested docs in june regarding police service no update after that. How long did they take for your spouse

If you are asking me, and asking how long for her background check to be completed, it's in our timeline. It was completed (or at least shown as such) exactly 7 months after the date on which her PR application was submitted. I am also rep for her sister. Both her eligibility and background are still shown as "in progress". Her application went in on Dec. 24/22. So, it's been just about 9 months so far.
