Ok so here is the situation:
My spouse is a protected person in Canada, and she sent her application for permanent residence in November, 2010. We got married in March, 2011, and she included me in her application as her dependant, I sent my application in March, 2011. In November 2011, after sneidng medicals, proof of relationship etc, we got our AIP and were requested to send in fingerprints for the background check.
Ever since, nothing new. It's been 10 months now and everytime i call immigration and they just say theyre still "finalizing the background checks". Why is this taking so long, and how much longer could it take?
My spouse is Mexican and she has only lived in Mexico before she came to Canada. I am german and I lived in germany and Italy before Canada.
Does anyone have any information/experiences with this? It's so frustratung having to wait so long without signs of any progress :'(
