Dear Qorax,

if your resubmission is well before 2-3 months of the meds expiry - u have a good chance to get the PPR in time [with a couple of months additional time to land, after the meds expiration].

So does that mean they can give my some extra time to land even after the expiration of meds??? Is that possible???

YES, this is exactly what the quota system means.

Canada will NOT exceed the quota of immigrants they plan to admit each year.

If not issued this year, you will get it next year, provided everything is OK with your medicals and security clearances.

PARIS

As per the projections listed in the annual report to parliament by Minister on immigration the quotas are
Total target for 2011 – 240000 to 265000
Economic Class – 150600 to 161300 out of which
FSW – 74,000 to 80400 out of this
Principal applicant 33200 to 36600,
Spouses & dependents 40800 to 43800
Family Class – 58,500 to 65500
Protected persons – 23200 to 29000
Others – 7700 to 9200

How they distribute to 27 visa offices around the world is a question

This might help you

Dear Captain Qorax,
thanks for taking time out and helping fellow members... i have few doubts which i would want you to clarify for me:

1. I did my bachelors in hotel management and presently working as restaurant manager...my credentials are little different from others.. i did my two years diploma initially and thereafter took a lateral admission in final year....as i scored first division in my two year diploma i was admitted to final year and my two years were exempted... i have a over all band of 7.5 in ielts.. My diploma certificate states it was a distance learning program though it was not..it was regular...please advise how many points would i be awarded for that..
2. my maternal uncle is a canadian citizen...( my mothers brother ) he gave his passport copy, utility bill, ssn copy..( all notary attested ) as u must be aware all these documents does not have the parents name... the only thing that has parents name is the canadian medical card...he provided a copy of that which has my maternal grandparents name.... for my mother i submitted her 10th marksheet and 12th marksheet that has my maternal grandfather's name (notarize copies) and alongwith that i submitted a notary affidavit as my mother doesnt have a date of birth certificate. Please advise are these documents enough to get 5 points for relative in canada...
please advise
Thank you

1. U should get the full points of a 'degree-holder'.
2. Those should suffice, usually.

Dear Qorax

After sending updated forms and latest photographs in July 2011 , I received a reply from Visa office London in response to my query that:

" YOUR APPLICATION IS AWAITING, FOR THE RESULTS OF ROUTINE BACKGROUND CHECK"

Could you please give view on the current stage of the case?

And should I expect to receive Medical in near future ?

REGARDS
