Please advise me what means the following reply which Canadian embassy in Damascus sent to my enquiry after 3 months from sending the medical results.


Please be advised that the application is undergoing further background verifications. Unfortunately, it is not possible to predict how long these will take. Once background checks are completed, we will be able to proceed with the application.



The medical exam results are valid until 23-10-2012. If the case cannot be finalized within the validity of medical exam, we will not re-issue medical instructions until the background checks are completed.



Is it means that they are still on first background check stage?

It means that ur security clearances haven't yet been obtained.

Sad state of affairs indeed. I'm sorry, can't advice u much, except to keep contacting ur IO. There's obviously something amiss/wrong in ur case... could u apply again [under the new MI]?

Plz advise... I am done with my medicals in October and now its 3 months am waiting for PPR.. I understand it usually takes 3 - 5 months.. but my only concern is that my ECAS has not been updated with medical recd line ... and its 3 months now have u seen any cases where ecas has not been updated for so long ...

My medical recd by Alfonsin on 18 Oct 2011... and still no update on ECAS.. please share your opinion is it normal or thing to worry...

Dear Mr Qorax

i am new here, i have applied in March 2011. my visa center was originally in Damascus with my file later transfered to Warsaw V.O in August.... in early December 2011 i received an email for medical request which was done for all three members of my family and the DMP sent the results on 19 December.... I am still waiting for the next step...... noting that my e-cas address has disappeared for couple of weeks early January 2012, but personally i think this coincided with the BFD for the deadline to send the medicals and not necessarily that a change in the case is happening.....

My question is that when they sent an email for the MR, i was not told to pay the RPRF, which i have not paid till now..... do i have to wait for them to ask for it or pay it now... is it normal that its not asked for at the same time of the medicals, does it come together with the passport request......do i need to call the visa office to check when to send it, and when do you think they will request the passports....

My e-cas does not show medical results received yet, when do think that would be?

The other thing is that when i did my medicals there were some Red Blood Cells in the urine, which i have known of for sometime, this has been the case for the last few months and doing many tests failed to show any kidney abnormalities, i was told this microscopic haematuria can sometimes be simply a normal thing with no underlying cause,,,, could this be a reason for delay in my application..... eventhough i have asked the DMP to send copies of the tests i have done which show no kidney disease.
My PCC were done early March 2011 and sent with the original application, they will expire soon, so i hope i will be asked for the passports before March 2012.... your valuable thoughts are welcome

I am also in the same boat. Medical send to London in middle of September 2011. Still waiting for PPR1. I am 2004 applicant from Pakistan. I know usually take 3 -5 months for us to get PPR1. My eCAS still says "In Process".
I dont know when the eCAS status changes?
A answer from Mr. Qorax would be greatly appreciated.

tarekcanada - if they need extra test, they will ask you right away (as they did to my eldest son). Nothing to worry about. You are fine.
I have not paid my RPFR either. We just need to wait.
