Yes, that's a below borderline score... Dangerous.

Dear Qorax,

Thanks for the reply. Now what do you suggest for me to do? What do you expect will happen to my application?

It'd be advisable for u to resit the IELTS & try to obtain a better score.

Qorax if this is indeed the case then why do the CIO gives PER even for applicants with less than 6 ielts score. I have got my PER in november but I have a score of 5.5. This is a concern really! So the VO is likely to overturn the decision of CIO in my case?

CIO doesn't "assess" our case...
They just check the completeness of the application & supporting docs & see if the NOC is correct - then issue PER/NER. It is the VO who performs anything & everything thereafter.

5.5 might not necessarily cause a rejection - but makes our case very weak, which could double-up as a detrimental tweak if the IO finds other issues.

hi Qorax,
i received last thrusday an email from the embassy asking me to get an updated proof of residence for my uncle as i am claiming pionts on him for being a canadian. this was the only thing they asked me to provide, no police certificates.. nothing more. bearing in mind that i received the 2nd AOR on Aug 2009.
then same day i checked the online status and found that my address is gone, and the below line has been added:

"Your application was reviewed and we started processing on December 14, 2011."

does this mean that they finished the background check, assessment has been finalized and that they only require from me this proof of residence to issue the medical, or does it mean that there will be more steps?

thanks in advance bro...

Dear Captain qorax,

Dear Qorax,
NDVO issued meds, RPRF and PP request on 4th Nov. They received PP and RPRF on 17th Nov and meds on 25th Nov. The RPRF DD was encashed on 1st Dec. Till date I have not got PPs back with the Visas.

I received GCMS on 14th Nov stating that meds were issued but background and crimanility checks were still pending.

Plz help me understand
1) Is issuing MR and PPR without conducting BG and Crim checks is normal?
2) Many forum members who were issued MR and PPR after mine have already received Visas. What might be the deciding factor?
3) On an average how long does it take for NDVO to complete BG and Crim checks?
4) By when can I expect my Visa and COPR?

Cheers,
Param
