Update on my case:

Sent ARC January 15 to the Bogota Visa office

March 18th I got a requested to submit my passport ASAP (did so on the same day)
*letter states my visa is valid until September
March 19th the embassy in bogota received my passport
March 19-22 checked Ecas and it showed -IN PROCESS-
March 23 checked Ecas and showed -DECISION MADE- (also my current home address changed to Canada)

*NO INTERVIEW was requested in my case

So this leads me to say my ARC took 2 months to process in Bogota. I am awaiting for my passport hoping it arrives soon!

Wow lucky you. Not even an address change for my husband yet.
congratulations!!

Hi,
I noticed that a few of you mentioned that you wrote a letter for your ARC? I was under the impression
that it was a form that you needed to fill out and sign. Well, that's what I saw on the Immigration website.
Can you please inform me on what is the correct way to prepare an ARC application? We do have a lawyer that
is handling everything for us but never mentioned having to write a letter. ???
Also my husband/ lawyer does not have his deportation papers. Should we need this information to go along
with his ARC when it needs to be submitted? We are applying to the Embassy in Mexico City.

Thanks!

Mexicanada,

In our case we were asked to write a letter and pay a fee. However I have seen a lot of people talk about forms. What I would do in your case is wait until they request your ARC and see what they request. Also I'd ask my lawyer about what should be done in your case. One more thing you could do is look for the Mexico thread and ask the Mexican community since I bet you won't be the only one that had to go through an ARC. I wasn't asked to submit any documents from our failed refugee claim but I've heard people have. Don't worry each case and visa office are different so take everything step by step.

Dani_y 28,
Thanks for your quick response! :D
Everything is a waiting game! Why they simply don't ask or allow you to send the information and documents you already know you need to send in is mind boggling to me. Sometimes I wonder if they do it to drag out the process a little bit longer. I would assume if they had everything from the time you first apply things would run alot smoother.
The Immigration system needs improvement!! >:(

Hi Mexicanada I had responded to you on this.. for Mexico it is not a form it is a letter asking you why you did not leave when you were supposed to and why they should let you back also you need to pay the fee and you need to provide your failed refugee claim documents (if you were a failed refugee) if you dont have those papers I would put a request in now.. we sent all our papers Dec 13th and are still waiting

My husband had to just do a letter too. I've seen the form but I haven't heard of anyone being asked to fill out the form and send in.

Hey guys so we got the PASSPORT REQUEST TODAY! im soo happy! they never asked for the ARC i guess because my husband was under age when he left. it did take 60 days since we sent in additional payments and documents (removal fee and RPRF)

they said the visa will be issued in 7 days that he must arrive before June 5, 2013 because thats when his medicals expire!

Gppd luck to you all! Dont lose hope!!!

one of the people who went through mexico had the same situation as u, left canada as a minor. and had a really hard time with his case, denied at the interview, appealed, and still got asked for the arc, letter, fee and all.

either your lucky! or he was unlucky!

either way congrats!! :D

Shes actually a friend of ours from vancouver. It was a basic failed refugee, left within 30 days, paid her own ticket, checked out at the airport. Just standard removal. But shes very lucky! I was shocked when i saw it. The fastest i have ever seen from mexico was 2 months.

wow she must have been the lucky ones, haha am just hoping mine doent take the whole 2 months althought it wouldnt be that bad if it takes two months or less. mine is a refugee refusal, but had to be deported cause i stayed to get married, and they contacted me to leave and i left paid my ticket and left. never had any issue with law.
