authorization letter and visa in progress

my application visitor visa is in progress, can I apply for an authorization letter before I get a response to my visa?

Yes I received the authorization letter ,the time line it was 10 days but I didn't get my visa until now

i applied on 8 dec i get approved in 17 dec.
yes i received an acknowledgment.
i applied for visitor visa.
unfortunately. i didn't get my visa until now.

Oh is it. Getting an authorization means your are approved?

No getting an authorization doesn’t mean your visa will be approved.

Ok got it. I applied for an authorization letter been 14 days now including weekends. however, I haven't received anything from them yet. So was just wondering.
