There are. I attended one for a family member of mine 3 weeks ago, in Montreal.Oh really are there no in person ceremonies anymore?
Hey @Seym, Congratulations bro. Thanks for your response. Do they provide you an option to select for in person vs virtual ? I am still waiting for mine. I wanted to attend in person with the whole family and friends as it really took long time and wanted to celebrate with everyoneThere are. Thank @Seym for the heads up. We are a family of 3 applied together for citizenship. Myself, my spouse and my kid. Hope they would allow us to have 3 guestsThanks! I suppose you can always make the request by phone or webform, but dunno if you'll actually get your wish granted.
Also, "whole family and friends" may not be possible. In the invitation for the in person ceremony in Montreal, the invitation specified that there could be "one guest per candidate". Candidate here is a new citizen. They're not exactly enforcing it at the entrance, especially for spouses and kids of applicants, but the seating is absolutely limited, and guests may be refused entry if the room is full already. I waited outside for a bit myself before the security lady checked the empty seats and let me in...
I should think if it's three citizenship-candidates they are allowed one guest each.Thank @Seym for the heads up. We are a family of 3 applied together for citizenship. Myself, my spouse and my kid. Hope they would allow us to have 3 guestsFinger crossed.
Thank you @armoured, really appreciate your responseI should think if it's three citizenship-candidates they are allowed one guest each.
Congrats!!!Finally, my turn after nearly 28 months.
I sent multiple web forms, requested multiple GCMS notes, contacted MP almost a dozen times. I was stuck in the security check.
My details- Indian, Single application, became PR through CEC Express Entry. No mandamus filed. Just waited patiently.
It happens when it is supposed to happen.
Be patient everyone, your turn is coming right there. Don't lose hope. Good luck to you all.
