Hey guys! I have just received an email invitation to virtual oath ceremony (like an hour ago). I am from Toronto, my test location was Scarborough.

My timeline is as follows:
Application received August 6, 2019
Started processing November 27, 2019
Test (Scarborough): Feb 13, 2020
DM: Feb 14, 2020

Virtual Oath Ceremony Invite: Aug 27, 2020
Virtual Oath Date: Aug 31, 2020, 8:30 AM

-- no prior phone calls or emails asking about my availability on that day.

Finally! I am excited.
We literally have the same application received, test and DM dates! Plus My application is also being processed by the Scarborough office! My oath ceremony is tomorrow and I received an email about it on Monday and got a phone call today to confirm I’ll be in attendance, congratulations :)

Do we need to print out the Oath form to be signed after the ceremony or i can electronically sign the document and email them back. the email says i can prefer to sign electronically if i want.
But the remainder phone call from IRCC mentioned to have the print out ready. Those who had completed ceremony did you take printout and sign it physically?

If you plan to sign the oath form electronically then you don't need to keep a print out ready during the oath.
Just do the electronic signature procedure after the oath and email it back. I did mine electronically and am done with all the stages of citizenship.
All the best!

I said that I will sign electronically, but will have a print out just in case there are any tech issues :)

I just called IRCC and the agent told me only a few people will get oath invites and they are RANDOMLY selecting the candidates!! She told me there is no way to request for the invites and people who are not selected will have to wait for in-person ceremony.
What the **** is going on?

Completed my oath ceremony earlier the afternoon it took about 45mins from start to finish and there were 27 of us on the call who became citizens! :) So elated that this process is finally over for me and hope that the rest of you get to this stage soon!

Are you serious? :O
That makes sense why some DM applicants after me have gotten their oath invites and I haven’t. :(

I was just repeating what exactly the IRCC call center agent told me. It's just so frustrating that they are sending oath invites to people randomly.

Exactly. What’s your timeline and office? Have you ordered your GCMS notes yet?

I applied in August 2019, got DM on Feb 22nd. Scarborough office.
Didn't think it's necessary to order GCMS notes... Because severy time I called IRCC they told me my status is "ready for ceremony " and I should be "getting oath invite very soon". Until today the lady gently told me they are randomly selecting people for virtual oath and I may have to wait for the in-person one...

I really hope she was making a joke... anyone was told the same by IRCC?
