Wat do u min by ip1. Is it in wording?
There is nothing called IP1 in CIC’s official status. The status message that’s says the following

”Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.”

Is being called IP1 by applicants themselves to distinguish between the two stages of background checks.

IP2 being your background check is in progress

At ip 1 stage , they check if u have uploaded all the required documents etc once they are done with that they move on to ip 2 stage where they verify ur details in depth .. terms like ip 1 and ip 2 arent offical jargons of cic. So all u need to do now is wait , check ur emails and ur cic account regulary to see movement, notification or requirements.

All application as per Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and the Regulations go through the following stages:

R10 (completeness check)
Medicals
Criminality
Eligibility
Security

To read on each stage, see
https://www.getgcms.com/blog/express-entry-application-processed/

There is nothing as IP, IP1 etc. These terms are used without context to correlate to your MyCIC status, which is just a myth and has no relevance.

You are right, there is no ip 1 or ip 2 stages as per cic. As per the observation and experiences of many, they broke it up into stages like the below

Fsw outland ( as for now , bio metrics not required countries)

Aor --> medical passed -->R10 (ip 1 stage) --> criminality, security and eligibility ( ip2 stage) ---> ppr ( golden email )

Hence, we cant totally write anything off as a myth along as we dont get an official SOP from cic on immig processing..

You can see all this info in your GCMS notes. It is clearly laid out with all the notes from he officer.

Hi! at the risk of sounding stupid, can you please tell me where I can see GCMS notes?
Gsm notes shows u the areas where the officer/personnel has worked on or is in progress and is yet not a Sop.

U will need to request for gcms notes, u can try following the link shown by legal falcon.. it costs around 10- 15 dollars and takes around 30 to 45days for u to get it. The ideal practice so far is to apply for it after 90 days from ur AOR , if you bothered cuz of anxiety, worries or if u find no progress on your cic account. And clearly theres no question arising of sounding stupid.. we learn and refresh more by asking.

According to the post on this link, It seems the R10 comes before/along with MEP......I thought MEP was first and just after it they did the R10......thx for sharing...

So, if we see MEP.....is there a chance that R10 is also passed regardless ''IP1'' etc??

No, clearing MEP doesnt indicate that R10 is cleared yet. R10 may still be under process or it may be cleared. Depending upon the monthly volume, the time taken to clear MEP now adays ranges from 20 -30 days (if not earlier). Medical report assessment is done by a different team.

Oh I see.....

Throughout many threads, people say that R10 start only when MEP is cleared.....But this is not mandatory based on this info, right?

For instance, after AOR while u r still waiting for the MEP u may also been assessed on Completeness check already, right?

Guys, the status on my ee profile changed to update not sbmitted. Does anyone knows what that means ?
Means ghost update, which translate that your file is progressing and would have completed a stage in the processing, impossible to say what exactly without looking at gcms notes

Yes, while medical report assessment happens, R10 may or may not happen at the same time.. chances are that u can get both cleared on the same day if u are on the luckier side. No one can predict anything on how cic functions, as they have not made clear about their standard operating procedure for processing ppr. Progress details can be secured thru the cic account and if there seems to be no progress there even after 90 days then gcms is another way to know whats happening.
