I had same update, they changed the 'local office' to 'Calgary' after 2 or 3 days. Don't worry, It's normal.

Congratulations to Don Valley.

Update on my file..

File transferred to local office.

"We have transferred your file to the local office of your area and the local office will contact you further on your file" Sounds bit strange why they don't write the office name. I am in Scarborough so it should be Scarborough.

Any experience like that with someone?

Thanks for the wishes buddy! Wish you a very quick oath invite and happy end to the journey too...

Please don't mind ...There is another use, as a verb -- found more in official communications of ex-British colonies I think--
meaning: to make know formally...

e.g. Mr. Hutchison has intimated his decision to retire...

See here: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/intimate
Hi Donvalley,
Thank you very much for your explanation about the word "intimate". I still cant understand why people take it in the negative sense and get offended.

Hey guys,

I just took the test today at Scarborough office (8:15 am schedule). I got the perfect score of 20. After the test, I had my interview with a very nice lady. Checked my passport stamps and asked about work, etc. Basically, a friendly conversation.

About the test - as others had said here before, the online practice test is good for you to familiarize yourself about history of Canada. But the best resource is still the study guide. I read it three times and did not memorize anything.

I had one missing passport stamp (my entry back to Canada from US) and I applied with exactly 1095 days. I thought this will be a hindrance.

Surprisingly, I was given a notice to appear for oath taking on February 09 2015. :)

Good luck to everyone!

Hi folks,

I am moving to Montreal from Ottawa next week for work. My application has been transferred to the Ottawa office on Jan. 5th, 2015, according to ECAS. I will update the address once it's confirmed, which should be on Monday.

Did anyone have to change local offices? If so, please share your experience.

Thanks :)

Hello heloo Heloo.....

Had the test and interview this morning at the Scarborough centre. Test went very well, so did the interview. Very very nice people made us feel very comfortable. I could see most of the people passed and were asked to come for the oath on February 9 at the same centre. I have been asked to come for oath on the 9th too.

Thanks everyone and best of luck to all waiting for their test. this forum is just awesome.

Thanks Thanks Thanks....

Me and my better half got test on 3rd Feb (we both live in Montreal and the test will be at Château Champlain (Marriott Hotel).

He got a letter last week. Mine hasn't arrived yet but the call centre says the letter is now on its way. I don't know if it will arrive in time *gulp*

I did but it was a while ago - end of 2009, timelines were different back then. Moved 2 months after the test, did not have an oath invitation at that point. Called CIC and changed the address, couple of months later got an invitation to the oath at the new address. I believe moving did delay the oath, but hard to say for how long.

FYI: citizenship timeline below is for my wife's citizenship. She passed the test today in Mississauga and got the invitation to the oath at the spot for 30 January. Very happy for her!
