Cic recieved my application on August 1st and I got nothing back from them so far.

I sent a case specific inquiry last Friday. Yesterday they replied to me with the following email.



Good morning,

We confirm reception on 2014/08/01 of the documents you have sent .

Your request is being processed. We'll contact you as soon as your file will be ready for the next step in the process.

Thank you,



Should I wait an email confirming that they started processing my application?
As well, Shoould I expect them to return my application since they did not indicate what step my application in?

Now I dont really care how long it will take for me to become a citizen. At least they have the complete file

Bad news for me.
We applied for citizenship on Aug. 14 and didn't receive ecas or AOR email yet.
We called CIC again today and the agent told us that he doesn't see the file in the system and this means only one thing - the file was returned to us and we'll receive a letter within 2 weeks.

My miss-fortunate fellows, please tell me if you receive a same or different answer from CIC agents.
I'm pretty devastated. In the previous times I called they told me that after 2 month my application couldn't return and now this...

Be patient! Don't buy the agent's word in total. Chances of return are very very low at this stage unless there was an oversight at previous stage. As I told earlier in Ronaldo's case; wait for few more days, you will receive some good news.
If not, then raise a case specific query by next Mon/Tue with any information you have that may help in tracing i.e. Client ID, Courier tracking no. Fee Receipt no. etc. etc.

On an unrelated note, I just applied for a UK visa for the Christmas holidays - 200 euros for the shortest visa possible. Ah, one more reason I can't wait to get my Canadian passport!

Congrats to everyone with positive news... Super awesome

After going through some other threads, it seems CIC is hard at work in November, Lots of updates.
Lets hope the 2015 election is igniting this new fire, and the result will be new citizens for the new year.
