I am from a visa exempt country and they required my passport.

Did the embassy tell you in the email that you will have to send the passport or did you get a letter in the meanwhile?

Maybe I still have to send my passport to Paris. I will see in the letter that I (hopefully) will receive soon.

Guys address showed up again today after 15 days

Hi funky,

My wife's address just showed up as well and we just got the PPR dated Dec 21. Hopefully your PPR is just with the post service.

To those who submitted Appendix A, does the sponsor need to fill out one of those?

Just want to make sure because I read in the letter something like "Fully completed Appendix A (attached) for you and each of your family members, whether accompanying you to Canada or not....."

My wife's address disappeared Dec. 21, reappeared yesterday, no update, so hoping that this may actually mean something! Congrats to all who have PPR!

Could someone clarify my situation if possible?

Actually, my processing time is 32 months! However, I was accepted from CPC-M on the 3rd of November, I never had a AOR from my visa office (Nairobi) so on the 5th of December, I wrote an email to them, asking if they had received my file. My Ecas updated to ''In Process''. On the 20th December they answered my email like that;

Good afternoon,

FILE NUMBER: FXXXXXXXXX NAME: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

The file has been reviewed. A document request letter was sent to the client on 19-Dec-2011.

Regards,

However, since the 19-Dec-2011 my wife still did not receive any letter it's been almost 3 weeks as of now. Is this normal? Anyone already faced such a situation?

Also, what would that mean? PPR? ???

Best regards,

Mosa.

In my case my address disappeared a week after my status got IN PROCESS, then 2 weeks after I received PPR. 5 days later it reappeared! I hope you all guys are also going to receive PPR one of this days. Keep on praying. Cheer up. God bless us all..

Thought people might like to know that we have received some communication from the London office.

We got an email just before the New year asking for the receipt of the Right of Permenant Residency Fee (does this mean the process is almost done?)

Also though they asked for some documentation that was already sent with the application. We have replied explaining this and are waiting to find out if when they have another look they find it or if we will have to get the thing again! Worried as it may mean my application time will be increased and my medical may run out.

Can't work out why they would ask for the Right of Residence Fee if they weren't ready to offer the visa.

Anyone had a situation like this?

hi everyone

Hope you all had a great new year eve's celebration.

I just got back from canada from my first landing. Gonna spend the next 6 months tidying up stuff before moving permanently. i havent received my PR card but hubby will be bringing it back when he comes back for summer hols once it arrives. i did received my SIN card within 10 days. my health card will take another 3 months to be eligible but hubby has made the changes to his to add me. couldnt do a driver's license ot bcid card till i get my pr card.

Just for info, scotiabank, bmo and rbc offers new immigrant accounts if any of you are interested. Scotia had a full package including cc (non secured will be 500 limit only), mortgage and car loans. I went with TD as hubby banks there but they did not have a new immigrant package so i had to secure my credits with funds.

job banks on cic would give a general view of what type of work is available at every province and its requirements. A lot of educational institutions also provides short terms courses to help you get the canadian education at reasonable prices. I havent had the chance to go to any new immigrants help centres but i read they offer a whole lot of services.

To all that have not received their visas, take the oppoturnity to save more money back home. Canada cost of living can be expensive unless you are from developed nations and the exchange rate is at par. You will need the extra money to get re-certified or re-educate yourself too. But if you dont mind doing survival jobs although you are a profesional while waiting to get re-certified, you'll get by but maybe not on a single income especially if you have children.

Wish you all the best!
