Hi,
I have made numerous posts on here and been given some great information and well with that i hope some of you great people can answer me this,

What legislation regarding citizenship was in force between August 15 2004 to April 17 2009?
I have asked CIC and the Canadian consulate and neither of them have answered my questions.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Do you have a specific question to how things worked in 2004-2009 that you want answered? I applied for citizenship during that time. The residency requirement was 3/4 years and did not change with the 2009 changes. The main changes in 2009 was that they gave citizenship to some people who had lost it earlier or hadn't had it earlier and maybe the most important change was that they abolished the right of citizenship to 2nd or subsequent generations born abroad after the 2009 law and abolished the need to retain for people who were born as 2nd generation abroad and who had not reached the age of 28 yet at the time of the 2009 law. They did however not reinstate citizenship for those who had already reached the age of 28 and had not applied to retain.

Thank you, i am aware of everything you have told me in your comment but in order for me to continue with my application for citizenship i need to be very clear as to what act/s were in place between those dates.
