Hey guys. I just joined the forum, I've been living in Canada for the past few years and I was thinking of starting a family class sponsorship to make sure my parents can immigrate here. So any advise regarding lawyers would be really appreciated. The reason why I want to do it and it's kind of urgent is because my father is sick. We are originally from East Europe and he has always worked (since he was 16). Recently though he started feeling really bad , with constant colds, and chronic coughs and all that stuff. We had his examined and turns out he has mesothelioma, which in simple terms is a lung tumor. We filed a lawsuit over there but honestly it's really hard to find a good, competent attorney that specializes in asbestos and meliorate in general. While that's in progress over there I want to get my dad over here and make sure he has access to the best medical care there is. So if someone could give me some advise I would be really grateful.
Unfortunately, cancer will make your father medically inadmissible for PR, which also makes your mother inadmissible for PR. A lawyer will not be able to change that.

Suprisingly have seen one case approved. Don’t quite understand how but it was but some of these medical approvals are pretty questionable. Sponsoring parents isn’t as simple as getting a lawyer. Details about PGP2020 will be released by April. Only a portion of parents who qualify actually get selected. It takes 6 months to 2 years to sponsor a parent and they need to pass a medical. Given that your father has lung cancer his chances of being inadmissible are pretty high. Would research PGP program. This is not a quick process and your parents may not even qualify. Would explore medical care options in Europe.

Remember because I don’t agree with the logic. Essentially the argument made that the treatment plan was for 2 more years of chemo which likely would be 60k+ over the 2 years while not factoring in any scans, admissions, port care, infusions, labs, etc. Anyone treating cancer knows you can’t give a 2 year treatment plan out of 5 years and say there will be no other treatment needed after 2 years or any bumps along the way which will need admission, ER visits, different medication other than chemo, etc. Just scans, removing a port, regular appointment, etc. for the next 3 years would be expensive if everything went perfect.
