Hi guys,

I am a new temporary foreign worker and I just got a job in Toronto about 1 month ago. As I am not familiar Canada immigration laws and rules. Can you help to answer my following questions?

My job is NOC 2173 and just been here for a month as a temporay foreign worker, so is it possible for me to apply for a PR in the furture?
If the answer is yes, then when I can start to apply it?

or it is impossible for me to apply for immigration as a TFW?
Because I find I like here very much so I really hope I could get a PR as soon as possible.

Your NOC is classified as "skilled," so you might be eligible to apply under the Federal Skilled Workers Program (arranged employment stream), the Canadian Experience Class stream (after 2 years), or the Provincial Nominee Program (for Ontario). You'll have to read about the various programs and decide which is right for you. All will require some degree of support from your employer.

Thanks for you reply.

It is said that there is a limitation for applications, right? Only 1,000 applicants are granted each year in Ontorio?

It depends on the program - the PNP-Opportunities Ontario program does have a "target" of 1000 applicants under its employer stream (I'm not sure if that's a hard limit). At the moment, there are no official limits to CEC or FSW-arranged employment streams.

Hi Sean,

For the benefit of others can you also advise what steps did you follow to find yourself a job in Canada as a temporary foreign worker?
