Are F-1 and F-2 U.S. visas valid for applying for the Canadian eTA?
I believe both F-1 and F-2 are considered U.S. nonimmigrant visas, and the website states: "currently hold a valid United States (US) nonimmigrant visa."

However, when I clicked the "nonimmigrant visa" link, it directed me to the "visitor visa B1/B2" category.

Can anyone clarify this?

No, it's based on your country of citizenship.

Go to the Canada eTA application page. (On the link you provided, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "how to apply". Scroll down again and click " apply for eTA" to get to the eTA application page). You'll be asked if you have a valid nonimmigrant visa for the US. Select yes. You will then be required to enter the visa number. Just follow the instructions after that.
