It most likely means you're scheduled for an upcoming interview. I had a similar note on my notes and I gave an online interview .The official just checks your PR card and healthcard and asks a few questions like where do you live, work etc. Very simple and quick interview. Mine was 5 minutes only. The interview is a v good thing as it speeds up cases that are stuck for months.
Goodluck

Hello guys, I submitted my application in April 2025, started processing April 9, background check is completed, test is passed and completed. No update since June 7 2025, I recently applied for ATIP notes and i saw “Grant Interview Ready In-Person” dos anyone knows what this means? And what could they possibly ask at the interview if it means interview is requested. Thanks
It looks like you will be called for a citizenship interview. Below is what I found on internet but information is very limited.

This is good news. At least your application is moving. You never know they can ask you to take oath on 5th Feb! Good luck!

Thanks! Haha I've already checked and it's unlikely. There is an oath ceremony that day but at an earlier time. My appointment is too late for same-day citizenship but oh well. I'm glad there's action at all.

I had my interview yesterday.

I have scanned all of the internet since getting my invitation letter about what to expect for an interview, and unlike everyone else, my interview was not easy. It was not a "it just lasted 5 minutes" and they just ask me where I work etc.

I sat down with one of their senior officials and it was more an interrogation. They asked me literally everything:
  • When did you first come to Canada? Who did you come with back then? (My first time was 2012)
  • Why did you come to Canada?
  • Did you apply for any type of work permit back then?
  • What happened with that work permit?
  • How long did you stay?
  • Can you prove to me that you did not overstay when you first visited Canada?
  • In what year did you come to Canada to activate your work permit?
  • Do you remember the date?
  • Where was your first job? Where did you live? How long did you do that?
  • Where was your next job? Where did you live? How long did you do that?
  • What is your job now and where do you live?
  • What does your business do?
  • Did you answer all questions truthfully and to the best of your knowledge in your citizenship application?
It took about 20 minutes, and then he said

Wife’s BG was marked completed today and mine’s still in progress. Any updates on your case? I also assumed group applications are processed together.
My spouse and I had our virtual interview two days ago. It was a brief, five‑minute appointment, after which both our language and physical presence requirements were marked as completed. In my case, I'm still waiting for security clearance. The officer mentioned that this step could take days, weeks or even months, and they couldn’t provide a firm timeline since it isn’t handled directly by IRCC.

For my spouse, her background check was completed last year. However, because we applied together as a family, my security clearance must be completed before we can both proceed to the oath ceremony.
