I received an email from IRCC with instructions to download e-certificate today (Oct. 28) even though I picked paper copy.
I called IRCC to confirm, the agent told me my oath ceremony is scheduled online on NOV. 6.
Congratulations!!

Got the email invite for Virtual ceremony. I wanted In person- should I request to reschedule it for in person? Do they take long to respond?
It will definitely delay things somewhat. How much is hard to guess, but longer if in a location with fewer in-person ceremonies (e.g. there are a lot in Toronto area, fewer in some areas). Up to you - if you're not in a rush, it is a nice ceremony.

A family member did this in GTA earlier this year and it only ended up being about a month after the first (virtual) invitation. YMMV.

How late can you get the e-certificate download email? My oath is early next week and I have received the oath invite but not the e-certificate email.
I can download my e-certificate about 1.5 days after the ceremony. Perhaps when you attend the ceremony, you can let the IRCC agent know you didn't get the download email yet.

This email was more about creating a PORTAL account and download instructions more than anything else. All the key information for the download you already know (ie UCI/admission number) etc.

Yah but i still don't know where to go, i assume they will tell us during the ceremony
They don't tell you where to go at any point. You will be informed as to where you have to send your signed Oath document to. (For us last Saturday we had to email it back to the address that it was sent to us from). We were told as it was the weekend that we would have to wait until around Thursday to download the certificate from the portal. I was able to download it on Sunday afternoon.

As I said, the key issue here is the PORTAL. They give you instructions as how to set up a NEW PORTAL account that allows you to download your E certificate. The actual email itself does not contain anything on it as such apart from the Portal creating/sign up page. The rest is all new and you have to set up with your email (used for the application) and then after a few codes sent to you, yo finally land on a home screen that shows absolutely NO information of use apart from a line which has the download Citizenship certificate.

I literally did this all last week so it is fresh in my mind, so I hope this helps.
