I think they go by whatever your PR card has unless you have updated since.Update: I got my AOR today.
However it has my maiden name instead of married name on the application. I filled out the section to the application and put my married name attaching my marriage certificate.
Will I be able to change it? Or should I just leave it like that and just change it once I have my citizenship certificate?
Ohh thank you so much for the response. I already waited for a month(i know not too long compared to others) and I don’t want to delay it just because of the name. If I can apply for a passport and use my married name, even if my citizenship cert is in my maiden name then it’ll be fine. I don’t really mind.I think they go by whatever your PR card has unless you have updated since.
My opinion only: it'll be quicker to get citizenship if you leave it as is.
When you get the citizenship certificate, go and apply for passport and ask for new name (with marriage certificate and some photo ID like driver's license as supporting). You'll have passport in the name you prefer, and that will be accepted basically everywhere as evidence of citizenship and name.
Separately, if you want, you can apply for an updated citizenship certificate (with name fixed). Reality is you'll probably never need it ever again, and anyone who would accept it would understand your other ID plus marriage certificate anyway. But if you want it, no problem.
Key warning: if you try to change your citizenship certificate before getting a passport, you'll be without citizenship proof until you get a new one.
I'm in the same situation as you. I don't think you need to do anything more at this point, just follow their lead. In my case, my AOR still had my maiden name on it, but when they sent me the test invite, it had my married name on it. Based on that, I didn't use my PR card (which is still in my maiden name) as my piece of ID for the test, but used my driver's license (which has married name) as my id and my test was completed without issues. If your test invite still has your maiden name, use a corresponding ID for your test. I presume they updated mine sometime between receiving AOR & test invite, and it'll likely be the same for youUpdate: I got my AOR today.

Thank you so much. Your responses are very helpful. I am always anxious and overthink things when it comes to immigration applications. Thank you so much. If you check the form carefully, it also says that if the time in last four years is before the date one became a PR, it doesn't count. So yes - you're correct because less than 183 days, but also the other exclusion. One more question, for context, my husband became a PR on July 7,2021
We applied apr 14 2025
In the question in the past 4 years, which I assume
Between apri of 2021 and April of 2025, if he’s been in a different country for more than 183 days,
Counting April 14 2021 to July 7,2021 is about 98 days or so, I answered NO on that question.
Is that correct? I’m so sorry i just checked today. Overthinking everything. Please help. Thanks.
Got AOR today for the group application with minor .We submitted two applications on April 11th . Received AOR for one of the applications (single). Awaiting updates on the other one (applied with a minor).
