Hi all! Looking for some expert advice.

My wife is already in canada on a TRV. We got PPR yesterday. Since she is already in Canada, there is an option of submitting the passport to the Ottawa office. Since she came on a TRV, we had to book a return ticket. Her return to india is on February 26th since we are all going to india for a wedding in and we will be returning on March 7th. My question is, if we submit it to Ottawa, can she still do her landing while coming back with us from India. I heard from somewhere that if you are already in Canada and send the passport to Ottawa, they only issue a one time immigrant visa to cross the border, not for a landing at the airport.

Bgc updated to in process on 16th Jan and DM on 17th Jan. PPR on 22nd Jan.

What was your background check status was saying exactly. can you please share the line with me.

Any April applicants still left? We are. We got an add doc request on Nov 23, a PFL on Dec 22 which we responded to on Jan 18 via GCKey and Jan 22 our couriered packaged arrived at our VO, and today BGC went in process. Please update the spreadhseet.

That sucks! Maybe follow up with them via WebForm or MP or email? PA should email them, sponsor can contact their local MP for info.

April applicant here. Finally received a request for passport today!! NY office.

Questions for any US applicants. The letter for passport request also states that citizens from visa-exempt countries (USA?) do not have to actually mail their passport but can send photocopies of every page in their passport. Just wondering if anyone has done this. Also do we need to sign any VAC forms?

I have a question about landing. Both husband (sponsor, CA citizen) and I are currently residing outside Canada (US). Does the sponsor need to be physically residing in Canada when the PA lands, as in - does my husband really need to go ahead and relocate to Canada in advance for me to be able to land?
