I'm unsure about that. It shouldn't be since they would need to approve the sponsor first to move forward with the next steps of the application. Did it happen to you?
In my case, I received AOR1 on May 18th and was asked to submit Sched A and PCC via the online myCiC portal on May 24th; but I still havent received Sponsorship Approval (SA). So I guess this is case dependent or VO dependent. Fingers crossed.

Hi Guys,

My wife's application was received on Apr 28th. I haven't received any kind of notification yet. I don't know what to do? Should I just wait? I don't even know if they even opened the application package yet?

Would calling CIC help in this case?

Regards,
Gagan
I believe you’re totally entitled to call and inquire as it’s been 5 weeks. There’s no harm in finding out.

I have the same timeline as you. I called and 2 mins later got my AOR1, so call. I can't get through right now.

It seems that they have not initiated the correspondence email to request for the Schedule A and PCC yet. Since you received the AOR1 on May 27th, I would suggest waiting until next week to see if they are any changes. If not, at that point you could try contacting them to inquire.

Hi everyone,

This is quite a battle so far lol.

My partner (Canadian) is sponsoring me (Polish). We sent our original application in February, but we received no AOR1 for more than 30 days. We became concerned, so we contacted my partner's local MP.
just a question, why would you call your MP at first place instead of calling the call center and asking what is going on with your application? I thought you should not involve your MP unless all else fails.

I can't speak for OP, but usually the call center won't be able to tell you anything about your application if you have not received your AOR - they will just tell you it's not in the system yet. So if you go a very long time without receiving AOR, but your application is not sent back to you either, it may be difficult to determine what happened to your application, or if it was lost. That may be why they contacted their MP. Either way, it seems like it worked out for them.

Yes, typically you include MP once there are some issues that you want rectified in your application or the timeline for processing has exceeded and you havent heard back from CIC. Once again, there is no point calling your MP. For your MP to work on your application, you need to sign forms in person including submitting copies of your appliation and you will have to sign a form indicating that your MP can act as a representative in your case.

Thanks for additional info. I really hope that in our case we wont need to involve MP :)

If you read my posts, we tried calling multiple times. Always got hanged up on "due to high number of callers". Also submitted an online form enquiry. No reply other than an automatic reply with no answers to our questions. So yes, I was actually advised by another user on this forum to contact our MP.
