wot other reason i could give to myself

thanks for the hope

Better things/opportunities are yet to come. Let just say hypothetically you got your PR already. You then be accepted to a job you are applying right now but then there is a job in the near future that is better. By passing the opportunities right now, other doors will open for better opportunities.

This I had experienced twice already. :D

That's why this thread is so active! We are all in the same page.

@ veeru5 stay optimistic. Good things come to those who wait. ;) Bigger jackpots will come once you are already a PR!
:P :P :P :P :P :P :P That was so True

By pass all the jobs now. But don't by pass PR.. :P :P :P ;) :)

Hi guys,

I have just received the weirdest call ever.

An unblocked number just called me (6:36pm) and asked to speak with me.
I asked who as calling and he said: "Immigration and Citizenship Canada", I also asked his name and he said he could not provide.

Right after that he asked me if I was still working for the same employer. I asked again his name, and he said: "Ok, fine! It`s David".
I asked for his ID number, Phone number, and one more time he refused to provide me with information about himself.

Anyone has experienced any similar situation?

What are your thoughts about this?

Long back, I got a blocked number call and they claimed that they were calling from CIC - Immigration and Citizenship Canada.
I told them that I was driving so please call back after sometimes or if you want any details please drop a mail(written note).

No need to worry about.

Sorry, If I were you, I would hung out immediately. You marked in your application that your preferred way to be contacted is either e-mail or mail. So, phone calls aren't within the spectrum of choices, therefore I consider them scam.

just wanted to updated about these calling things. Few people get spam calls saying that they are from CIC and ask you to deposit the money or buy some cash cards. A friend of mine received a call asking to deposit some money otherwise his spouse's PR application will be rejected or something. Please be aware of such scams

Goodluck... :P :P :P :P :P

I am just saying he received a call and asked to deposit money in some account. If the email is coming from the correct/verified email address then it could be genuine.
There is no harm in talking to them. People can get your personal information from any where may be social hacking is the part of it, dumpster diving is another, resume from job portals...

Wow, that looks authentic (I checked the e-mail address). Two ways to confirm this:

- Write him back an email about why you were reluctant to provide personal information. Also, ask him to acknowledge with your application number. Explains that there were many cases of fraud / scam calls. That's why many people hang up immediately.

- Call the "call center" and ask them if it's possible to receive a call from CIC requesting more information and what you could do to prevent frauds / scam when receiving calls from them.

Up to you, but I'm super picky about my personal information. I would ask them to provide something that a scammer wouldn't know and it's only available in your application.

Also, he signed the email as Agent– DS5748 and his first name is David which is matching... so, it does look authentic.

The email address in bold has under-score, but it should be dashed. I would say check the email address caracter-by-character and see if it matches the one of CIC.
