WOW - what do they do for 5 or 6 months?

I think they will review your file if it passes the initial assessment send you AOR, RCMP request, other docs, contact all agencies, countries, Interpol, sent out your name/s, etc.... and will put in a cue. Now depending on how many application CIC receives (for sure in thousands) and how many people they have, I guess a few hundred, somebody will check your application again if all the documents they are waiting for, not only from you but also from all other agencies and countries you have been to, are already complete. These includes their internal department for checking Eligibility calling companies, searching online, checking your eligibility etc....

So in fairness to them, they are probably doing a lot of work. Are they efficient and systematic? That's totally a different story all together. What do I know, I am just expressing my own speculation and opinion here also. ;)

Agree if they did all these, my GCMS notes indicated that nothing has been started!!!!!

Looks like CIC is dealing with too many things these days (Express Entry, Citizenship, CapGate). I was expecting to see some PPRs coming over the February applicants, but nothing so far. I guess, we just need to wait until everything is back to normal...

Hi Sam27,

Congratulations.....

Can you tell us when did you received Medical Request?

Looks like CIC has again starting to work on April Application...

I got my GCMS notes yesterday - 1 week earlier than they told me - I thanked them for such great work

Not much there except the following which I was surprised by as I feel they wanted to give us our PR - in the first summary section it say "RFPF 490 due 21 May 2014" - interesting.

Also the paper file got transferred from Sydney NS to Ottawa soon after AOR in early June, then it sat in Ottawa and got moved from Registry to A900 and then to CEC CA REV - all this took 5 months and not much appears to have been done apart from CA is OPEN (I believe that is Criminality Assessment).

We needed Police Clearances from 3 countries and we never heard anything from them, no request at all. So I wonder how people are supposed to find out when they are meant to send CIC information because they told us not to send anything to them in the AOR until requested. It appears that they don't request!!! I feel that people have been using GCMS notes to see what they need to do and it has perhaps become the defacto way of doing things at CIC.

Frankly I am shocked to learn how all this works.

hey guys,

After hearing nothing from CIC since May 2014 (AOR), i finally got an MR this evening! Maybe things are starting to pickup in Ottawa!

It appears many of you had your Medicals many months ago, so somehow i am very far behind!

All the best to everyone
