seniors please help....

My Closed Work Permit expires sometime in Feb 2015 and my spouse Open Work Permit expires in Nov 2014. I really want to convert my Closed work permit to Open work permit based on the AOR and I know my spouse is eligible to apply to extend work permit.

Can someone suggest if CIC would accept the application and process even if the Work Permit is valid for more than 4 months.

Got my AOR during the end of May 2014 and hope to get medical sometime in November.

Thanks

Hello guys, hope everyone is doing good.

I have a question regarding upfront medicals. I am planning to go for upfront medicals as i have received my AOR already. I have to apply for BOWP by end of this month, after receiving my bowp iam planning to go for a vacation for about 3 months to my home country. So to come back again into Canada i have to apply for TRV in my home country with my BOWP. So while applying for TRV should i have to go for merdicals again or records from my upfront medicals for my PR would be sufficient??

awaiting ur replies. thanks in advance

Sandy

Hi friend,

It is very clearly mentioned on the official website.. that you will not be eligible for bridge open work permit, if your current work permit is valid for more than 4 months.

You may be lucky to get it... if you are very close to 4 months... but otherwise, I have seen people whose bridge open work permit has been rejected, just due to the reason that they have more than 4 months left on their current work permits.

Check this out...

One of my friends got his Passport stamped today, he had sent his application in December 2013 and got the AOR in first week of January 2014. MR was done in mid May.

The processing time appears to be decreasing with each batch of applicants. Hopefully, our wait will be shorter :D

Good news..As per your friend timelines I hope April applicants start getting MR request from early Sep 2014 onwards.

You are correct. One of mine friend also got passport request yesterday night and he got AOR in End of December.

But, this time we have backlog of CEC and FSW. So it could be change of getting late compare to Nov,Dec applicants.

For those of you submitted you application in April, did you take CELPIP test? If so, when did you receive your score?

Thanks!

Well my scenario is perfect example for you. I took CELPIP on last week of March, got results on 1st week of April and I submitted my application with old test results on 3rd week of April. Everything went fine so far.. So nothing to worry, if you took exam before 1st of April, those results are valid for 2 years and it doesn't matter when you submitted with application.

Best of luck..

Thanks for sharing your experience. it just really worries me that on the website, it says the CELPIP-G test will not be used anymore. Not sure what they meant by that; the test will not be used for testing? or it won't be accepted as language results?

Thanks again!

Friends...Do suggest

Can we apply Super visa for my parents in INDIA based on AOR or should I wait until we get our physical PR Card...I heard that its getting tougher to get visitor visa and every one is suggesting to go for Super Visa.

Please share your experiences....Thanks in advance

No - you can't. You must wait until you are actually a PR. AOR is by no means a guarantee your PR will be approved.

Thought of sharing this info on Express Entry here:
