No AORS till now.I'm worried.Did they start working slowly again!...

Did you check your draft status?

I don't think so they are working slowly because in new cap, they have updated numbers also. That's means CIC has issued AOR.

I checked with my bank.Draft is not yet charged.
Moreover in the spread sheet i can see no more updates after MAY 12.(Expect 1 or 2)

Blame the long weekend!

But still, the thing that people were charged and didnt receive aor in 10 days or more is very strange. I checked the spreadsheets for last 6 months and that never happend. Even when people were waiting 40 days for aor. They always receive aor within a week after their cc is charged..

We also need to understand that the CIO office not only assesses CEC applications but applications received under various other immigration streams. Recently the FSW cap was reset, so I assume they have received a lot of FSW applications and have to process them as well.

Furthermore, once the processing fee is recovered, a CIO officer has to check if the application is eligible for processing, so this will take up some more time. To make matters worse, we have had a long weekend, so it will take them some time to get back into "the groove".

Let's just hope it all works out for us. That's really all we can do! :)

But dont they check if application is eligible and everything before they charge cc or money draft?

No, if an application is complete, they cost recover the fee and after that they check if it is eligible to be processed. If not, the processing fees are refunded.

Didnt know that, I thought that they check everything before they charge those fees. And that once the cc is charged there's no refunding.. Good thing to know, though. Thank You for that info

This is my understanding. I know the popular view is that if the CC is charged/bank draft is encashed, an application is eligible to be processed. For CEC, up until now this has been true. However, as a process, I don't believe it to be.

Don't blame long weekend because they have updated latest May intake threshold means that people (#13 applications) got the AOR who submitted application after 1st May 2014.

They do not refund if the application is considered to be ineligible after they charge the cost recovery fee.

The cost recovery fee is charged after the completeness check and the status gets changed to application received. There is no refund after the status get changed.

I applied under FSW last year and the same thing happened to me. I was clearly told that there is no refund since the application was in process and guess what? The reason for my rejection was missing NOC codes on the form. So they were not even supposed to charge me the cost recovery fee.

Who would debate with them. They're not answerable to anyone.. >:(

That doesnt mean that applications were submitted after May1st. That means that they issue aor's in May, and as we can see in April spreadsheet people were receiveing aor's in first 2 weeks of May. But since May 12 seems like nobody received aor, thats for 9 days now

what I was trying to tell is that a lot of people take time off in anticipation of the long weekend leading to manpower shortage which in turn affects the processing time. I hope I make better sense now :)

These are just my theories, probably not the actual cause ;)
