No Medical Request.
Upfront medical Done: 18th Feb, 2015
ECAS status change (medical Results Received): Feb 26th 2015.

Hi guys,

Quick question about landing. I decided not to pay my RPRF upfront because I'm doing a lot of travelling for work at the moment. If I decide to pay it now, but have to travel again, can I choose not to officially land? I don't want to end up in a situation where I have to keep flying to Buffalo instead of being able to fly to Toronto while I wait for a PR card....

Can anybody help with my question?

I actually got a new passport and already sent them a copy few months ago. I think the expiry date was October 2015. They probably want to see a notarized copy of the passport

your status changed to inprocess without paying RPRF ? Interesting... my perception was that ECAS status changes to Inprocess only after the RPRF payment has been made.... but i guess this is yet another case in point on the unpredictability of this process.

My passport will be expired in November. Yesterday, I called CIC to ask about my CEC status. They told me that there is some background verification going on. I have asked about passport renewal then they told me that better to renew it.

Did you get request from CIC to renewal passport or did you done yourself?

Just don't pay the fee until plan on landing.

"Should a client complete all other documentary and regulatory requirements for acquiring permanent resident status but fail to pay the RPRF and complete the acquisition of permanent residence process, there is no legal basis for closing the file or regarding it as abandoned."

My status has changed to "In Process"


"We received your application for permanent residence on April 25, 2014.

We started processing your application on February 26, 2015.

Medical results have been received."


Waiting for RPRF now...

Congrats Cabalen, i m happy for you! hopefully everyone gets their MRs, PPRs soon..

This coming weekend, some people will start their last month to reaching 12 months processing time. Over the course of 11 months we have already:

6 happy people with Decision Mades
4 contented people with In Processes
51 perplexed people who are waiting for their MRs

and ton of communications from CIC.....

It is not a good situation and the processing is very slow. For those perplexed people, you are not at the bottom. People have worser scenarios, applicants from January to March 2014, some all the way from 2013 even, still have no MRs. I know it is a stressful process and the stress level is equal from submitting your application until landing.

I am glad that people are active in the this thread though we don't really know what is happening to CIC, we give our best way to help and answer questions. How active are we? We are currently sitting at the 5th spot of the CEC forum. I think this gives us, applicants, a way to release our stresses and calm our anxieties.

All the best and may this last month be more meaningful and exciting that any other month in our PR journey.
