If you signed consent and authorized lawyer to deal with CIC, then lawyer will receive all communication from CIC or else PA will receive it.

For those who have mr's and a lawyer.

Who received the mr request, you or your lawyer?

I received email. I think they communicate with lawyer (representative) and Principal Applicant as well.

They don't communicate with both of them. Either its Lawyer or its PA.

I got an email for MR but not sure about my lawyer coz I didn't ask him whether he got it or not.

You got the email because at the time of application you might provided the email address for correspondence.

The way Lawyer works is little different. When you hired Lawyer for application, you have given rights to your Lawyer to represent you on you behalf.

So let's say if CIC wants some clarification for your application, you can ask your Lawyer to represent your case on your behalf to CIC.
CIC will accept the clarification or explanation sent by your Lawyer on your behalf.

This is what I have observe and also asked one of my Lawyer friend.

I have a question...

Why do so many people pay the RPRF upfront? Of course I hope everyone in this forum and in general get their PR, but what if there's something wrong with the application or with the medicals? Isn't a big risk to pay $490 before you know if you met all the requirements? Or is the fee refundable if something goes wrong?

It is refundable! and also its recommended by CIC to pay upfront.

Is it recommended by CIC? Where can I find that? Thanks!

I don't think it's recommended by CIC to pay upfront. It may speed up a bit your file, but I doubt for how much. In my case, I paid RPRF when submitting my application and my GCMS notes shows that the fee is paid. In any case, it's something that won't hold your application for longer than a few days. If you are close to get PPR, you'll get it sooner or later. It's not a show stopper like medicals and it's driven by your VO when medicals is an external health branch. So, your VO will be notified almost immediately when you pay.

There is no speed up process in PR application(Need to fill up the application package based on checklist to avoid delay). Deadline/Timeline of CEC application is 13 months so, anyhow CIC will try their best to do decision before 13 months over.

However, there is slowdown of process even people had completed their Medical and Eligibility recommended. But still we need to wait before crossing deadline of 13 months. Only wait ....

Regarding to RPRF payment, last year most of the people got the RPRF request on same day with medical request. Even though people did not get PR sooner. It is very important that how VO will back on our applications.
