i have a question guys, since it looks like the wait time for PR cards is extremely long (69-100 days?) , with the visa that allows us do the landing, is that just one time only visa? with the confirmation letter of PR, can we travel?
I have work permit and current entry visa valid till July 2014, i m planning on landing in in Feb, march i will be going out of country for 1 week( and i m guessing that i wont have my PR card by then). i shouldnt have any problem coming back to canada with my current entry visa, right ?please help! thanks so much in advance! ;)

As per my understanding all your TRVs and work permits/study permits would be cancelled once you receive your PP with PR visa, and its valid for single entry. But i shall let those who experienced in person to comment on this.

I'm so frustrated. I have applied for PR under the PNP program. I sent off my PR application and it was received by them on April 2, 2013 (after receiving PNP confirmation on Jan 21, 2013). My medical was requested on May 31, 2013 and it said that they started processing my application on August 13, 2013. I paid the RPRF on August 22, 2013 and have still not heard anything. I was really hoping that I would have heard something by now.

You are not alone Carinamacdonald. Mine had been in process since Sept 10, I sent out an email today to inquire about my application and got a speedy response that it was already in process in Ottawa and would be reviewed by one of the officers. Got to be honest, the waiting sucks but very optimistic to get a PPR request this week.

Just wondering if you have received a decision on your PR yet?

Dont do that. I asked the immigration officer at the border about it. and they said no you can not travel without your PR Card or with your work permit and TRV. they would ask you if you are planning to travel any time soon. Tell them that you need to travel soon, taking that into account they would expedite your case and you would receive your PR card in 4 to 6 weeks. thats what they told me.

thanks for the help!
Can i just wait till march when i take my vacation, on my way home to canada to board?

yeah .. i think any airport had an immigration office where you can do the landing .. people coming from their countries with PR visas are doing their landing at the airport ..
