Hi,

I had traveled for many countries before i came to Canada, would this delay the file processing after the file status changed to In progress?

thanks

If you have been countries that are kind of unstable, volatile and always on the radar, then expect to wait for a little longer.

long time no chat everyone!
I just got back from vacation, and I landed on Saturday march 22nd.
I flew out of halifax went to Dominican republic for a week , then flew back in halfax, did my landing at the airport. the officer at custom asked me the usual questions and i told him i was doing my landing for PR, so he referred me to immigration service down the hall. There was no officer at the immigration counter, i had to wait about 10 mins for someone walked by me to notice me then called someone for help. When the officer came along, he told me that i was lucking i was doing landing at day time, coz he said at night , it would be very hard to find an immigration officer at the airport. And he didnt really know what to do with my landing paper, so he walked away , asking for someone's else help :D. My husband had been there with me the whole time ( he is canadian citizen, they advised him at custom counter to stick with me when i m doing my landing) after about 15 mins, the immigration officer came back, and told my husband to go get our luggage and go have a seat. He signed the paper with me, asked me if i need to ship any furniture into Canada (this would be the only time to claim for things without any tax). after signing, he didnt have any Canadian little flags to give to me, he only had a French information booklet for newcomers, I told him just to keep it haha. It did take about 1/2 but it was most waiting period. The officer is nice after all, and he advise me that my PR card will arrive about 2-3 months. Hope this helps guys!

Hi Forummates,

I applied for a RCMP Civil Criminal Record Check in RCMP Ottawa on September 2013 then I sent an email
to their office for a follow up on November 2013. They replied to me in January this year but they told me
that my certificate was already forwarded directly to CIC Sydney Case Processing Centre in Nova Scotia.
My question is why did they sent my certificate directly to CIC Sydney wherein I have attached a return envelope
in my application??? As far as my knowledge is concern, when you put a return envelope they are suppose to send it back
to your address...Is there anyone here who have the same case as mine? Do you think that this is just normal?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi. We have the same issue. I requested to RCMP to submit my husband's criminal record check to our address but still unfortunately, they forwarded the clearance to Sydney NS. Now, i emailed Sydney more than 2 weeks ago to informed them what happen but still no reply. I don't know what to do now. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I have my wife and my kid as well on my file....

I sent emails to both Nova Scoatia and Ottawa on The 1st March inquiring my file status but have not received any reply from them yet. Any one has any idea, normally how much time do they need to reply the email. It's almost 25 days now.
