I think the CIC takes 40 to 60 days to review the eligibility review. I got my 1AOR after 54 days. It is not a must the CIC email will go to the spam folder...

Hi Sadika,

It takes a max of 2 days for the 'application to be in system'. You should be able to call them and get the status on your application by now. Chek on pg 82 on how to contact CIO.

DD takes a little longer to be cleared.

No, AOR can come to your regular Inbox as well but since it is a new address from where the mail is being sent the regular Inbox might detect it as Spam and send it to Spam box. I am sure this might have happened with many applicants and thus the suggestion to check the Spam box.

Question about Education proof - This is what is there as requirement -
EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS
For you and your accompanying spouse or common-law partner:
•Post-secondary education documents: vocational or technical certificates or diplomas;
•College or university documents: the graduation degree, diploma, or certificate issued by the college or university;
•If you are currently in a program of study, provide a letter from the Department Head advising the date of expected completion of your course work and expected graduation date;
•Trade / Apprenticeship documents: certificate and evidence of apprenticeship;
•Transcripts: original transcripts of all courses taken must be submitted in university or college sealed envelopes;
•Professional qualifications certificates: any proof of further training or certification relative to your current occupation/profession;
•If you have studied in Canada, copies of study permits issued to you and/or your accompanying spouse or common-law partner.

I am not able to understand what is "Transcripts". Is it Transcripts of your college/school degrees? If yes then what is "College or university documents"?

Hi

As far as I understand a transcript is the document printed out from the University listing your entire degree, mine lists every course I took during my 5 years at university and the separate marks given and the degree I was awarded. A University document would be your official degree CERTIFICATE which just states for example LLB (Hons) and the year.

Hi priyanka,

Kat-b is correct.

College-University degree/diploma/certificate is something which is issued at the end of your course... which proves the successful completion of your course. This is required because sometime Degree is withheld by the Univ because the candidate has not paid the fees in full.

Transcripts is same as marksheets. It can be 1 or couple of them representing completion of each year. You have to provide them in a sealed envelope from the University for authenticity.

Thanks Mitali. I just checked the response. So it means that we have to send both Degree (Copy, Notarized??) along with Original Transcript from Universities. Do you have idea if our Indian Universities know meaning of such thing?

Hi prianka,

Dont get confused....be calm. You will be fine.

Your VO is ND. If you check the checklist of ND...on the top it is mentioned that -"Do not send originals unless specified".

Now if you check the point # 6 on the checklist:

For Post sec and college and Univ doc nothing is mentioned (ie whether it should be notarised or original) ...that means you just have to send a photocopy.

For Transcripts-it is mentioned "original"

and for Professional qualification it is mentioned -"Notarised"


So in your case--Degree should be a photocopy
and transcript should be original in Univ sealed envelope.

Our Indian Universities are one of the finest in the world and they are definetly abreast with the recent developements/requirements. They definitely know what is a TRANSCRIPT in SEALED envelope and why it is required.
Some of the Indian Univ charge 10,000 Rs. to issue Transcripts for people who are residing abroad.

Go ahead and request your University for Transcripts.. most of them are very helpful.
