Hi Forum:
Now this is a surprise: I received a letter from Buffalo about one months earlier than I had expected but I am not sure if this is the second AOR and if all second AORs sound the same. The second paragraph of the e-mail is somewhat scary if you will ! Comments??
here is a copy of e-mail:

FILE: BXXXXXXXXX NAMES: XXXX, XXXX
Dear Applicant:

This is to advise you that your application for permanent residence has been received at the Canadian Consulate General in Buffalo, New York and that a file has been created for you. Your file number appears above. Please note that this file number is different from the one that was assigned to you by the Case Processing Centre in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada. You must quote this new file number in any future correspondence.

Before your application can be placed in processing, a determination will be made as to whether or not you are eligible for processing. If your application is not eligible for processing, you will receive a letter informing you of the reasons for the decision as well as a refund.

[ Hi, based on my experience, I was advised by CIC agency to withdraw my first application (year 2007) when I receive a letter from Canandian Embassy regarding the new system wherein my NOC is included. Here is the sample of the letter I received dated Dec.2009. Hope this helps.

Following are the important highlights of the letter for your information:

o The letter is intended to applicants filed pending in the visa office for decision and application submitted before February 27, 2008;
o The visa office confirmed that an estimated of at least another two (2) years before the application will be put into active processing and another year before the application will be finalized;
o The visa office mentioned that based on the review of the application, the applicant may be eligible to apply for permanent residence under one of the 38 occupations listed in the Ministerial Instructions which were announced in November 2008.
o It is also mentioned that “As this list of 38 occupations is subject to review and change, we advise that if it is your intention to submit an application under these guidelines that you do so as soon as possible.”
o If the applicant wished to withdraw the current application and/or no longer interested in immigrating to Canada, must contact the Canadian Embassy in Manila in writing within 45 days from the date of the letter.]

There is no file number except the UCI number (8 digits - no alphabets) and the Application number (alphanumeric - one Alphabet and remaining 9 numbers). Possibly we have to consider the UCI number as the new file number. I tried to check the eCAS using this number and it was showing the same status as earlier - "..CIO Review complete..."

We have been eagerly waiting for this and now we are very very happy receiving it. Now fingers crossed for the next update...

Good Luck to all that are waiting for their 2nd AOR!!!

Thanks

Hi, I showed CAD 20,500 in Bank solvency certificate for 3 members family. Now my question is " is it mandatory to keep fund idle in that bank account until my case gets finalized on the plea that investigation of fund by the VO (Singapore) may be done at any point of time by local BD Office?"

Please share your comment.

Hi

Yes you will need to maintain the minimum amount in your account until visa is stamped as they may ask you for the 6 months statemetns again at the time of medicals.

Cheers
