Saki/Mitali,

I called this number 16139444000 and after a 16-minute wait was told that only those calling from within Canada are given information on this telephone number. Callers from outside Canada are not given any information on this telephone number.

Looks like I might have reached a dead end.

If anybody in this forum has had any experience calling this telephone number and getting information from there, please respond.

As for me, I am still waiting for my first AOR!!

Thanks.

Mitali,Saki and all other dears,
Ever since i have come across this site and particularly the blog regarding April /May Applicants,i have become a big fan of this. Its really solving so many doubts and puzzles and getting informative day by day..
Some few questions from my side..
1)"Transcripts should be sent in sealed college /university envelope"-Now as we all know we have completed our education before 10-15 years back, how can it be possible to get transcript in a college sealed envelope??!!i have my transcript with the seal on it but open / uncovered without college enevlope.Should that be ok?!!
2)In my job responsibilities , most of the responsibilites i have mentioned is as same as mentioned on CIC website as i was fulfilling all the responsibilites and hence some of them copy pasted from site.is that ok?!!
Regards,
Nevil

Mitali,Saki,

I used to call them many times during last June , also many members of this forum. may be they changed their policy after they noticed high volume of calls from overseas applicants. Have you been told that by the recorded message or by the agent who answered your call ?

Dear Friends,
I called CIO and after an effort of half an hour the agent attended my call. She had full details from me and asked to wait.Whithin one minute she told me that we are working on last week of April 2010 and these will be cleared in next two or three weeks. But she was not able to give client ID.
It is for information and comments from Saki and Mitali.
I also agree with Mitali that April group should continue and their is no need to start separate thread.
Cheers
Chander

Depends on your visa office. Read instructions carefully. For New Delhi, which is my VO, everthing that is not original needs to be notorized. They need original PCC, IELTS Results, Reference Letter, and Transcripts. Everything else is expected to be notorized.

Hi Friends,
Do we need to notorize our college degrees/certificates or any other document for visa office?

Hi Sts and Saki,

I know I am no more part of the ongoing processess ... but I have a suggestion regarding opening a new thread for April Applicants.

Though I agree that different VO have diff timeline but this whole April Applicant group will get scattered.....it will be very difficult to keep track of all the April Applicants together. I would suggest to continue on this thread itself and modify the Update list. We can have the Vo office segregated on the update list itself. Once ppl get their 1AORs (or most of them) we can separate according to the VO. Moreover it will give an indication on the same thread about the timeline of all the other VO. As you can see many candidates need help and need to stick together for supporting and sharing information

It will be nice to see all April candidates together and land together in Canada.

We can put a note in BOLD on the update list for the applicants when they receive their 1AOR to inform the thread about the VO as well. Once we have enough candidates , then we can remove couple of columns to make space for the new ones.

Mitali

Hi,

I agree with you Mitali and i also want all April applicant to stay together until we reach to our finish line.
So we will keep the list and modified it once all applicants received the 1st AOR.

Cheers

Hi Saki / Mitali,

I have couple of question:

- My reference letters are 2.5 months old nowas got from my employer before sending my application to CIO? Is that Ok?
- My spouse reference letters are old (actual dates during the jobs....like 3-5 years old). Its difficult to get her up-to-date letters and also she is not principal applicant...so is it okay?
- One of my my employer reference letter shows my designation as per my job duties but contract shows a different designation due to some interal office procedures. Should I attach contract copy with explanation letter or should I skip attaching the contract?

Thanks for help...

Hi,

Your reference letters are fine it shouldnt be older than 3 months so you are fine dont worry about your reference letters.

For your spouse is she still working there or not ? If she is stil then try to get a new one but if you cant then just write an explanation to tthe visa officer stating why you couldnt get teh new one it will be ok.

Visa officers are more interested in looking at the job duties rather than the job title/designation so it does not matter if its different as long as job duties are matched. What i will suggest is to attach your contract and put this in explanation letter as well just so that they dont come back asking you questions again so its better to do all your work now.

Cheers

Hi,

The number is correct and thre person you spoke with is saying right actually only those who applied within canada can call them about there application but previously what was happening that applicants outside canada where lucky to get the information but now i think they have noticed many calls and has stopped giving the information.

Hi

Priyanka check your visa officer checklist most of the visa offices are asking for originals so check your visa office checklist.
