April 2009 Citizenship rule changes

I am looking for clarification on a particular situation in regards the April 2009 citizenship rules.

My parents were born abroad in 1952 and both have Certificates of registration of birth abroad, meaning they were both registered at birth. I was born in 1977 also abroad and I applied for Canadian Citizenship in 2010 and received my card in 2011. I have a son born in 1999 and a daughter born in 2007 both born abroad. Question, am I considered a Canadian Citizen since my birth, therefore my children also have rights to Canadian Citizenship? Or, am I only considered a Canadian since I received my Citizenship card in 2011, therefore my kids would have to immigrate through me? I look forward to a response.

Thank you.

Was your birth registered with the Canadian government like your parents were? Do you have a certificate of registration for a birth abroad for yourself? If not - then I believe your children would have to immigrate through you and have no rights to citizenship.
