Hi welcomesk,

Does the consulate send ur passport back in the envelop you provided?

I am still waiting for my tracking number to be activated...

apply with a J1 visa in the US

application submitted: Jan 17th
original passport request: Jan 22nd
Passport sent: Jan 23rd
Passport delivered to LA: Jan 25th (unfortunately it was a Saturday)
waited anxiously for days!!!
Application closed: Feb 6th

USPS tracking number hasn't been activated yet.
hopefully i can receive it before my trip on Feb 15th!!

Any one got there case closed on friday in LA and passport shipped.
Also how many years of TRV are they issuing,i am on H1b and applied for mutiple entry visa 8) 8)

I just wanted to let other know that I finally got my PP with visa stamp. I sent my PP to NY Consulate. Below is my timeline.

Applied Online: Dec 19
PP Request: Jan 28
PP reached NY Consulate: Feb 03
Tracking on return envelope got activated Feb 07 at 10 pm or so
Got PP in mail Feb 08 around 2 o clock

Applied multiple entry. Mine is valid until Oct. 2018. How about u? others?

Ah I just checked mine, it's finally activated.

Full time line:
My case was submitted on Jan 15th,
I received the pp request on Jan 22th,
My pp was delivered at the LA consulate on Jan 25th (SATURDAY).
My case was approved and closed Feb 6th.
I received the email notification Feb 7th.
My pp arrived at the USPS LA office Feb 10th, but my tracking number is not activated until Feb 11th. Hopefully I can receive my pp today or tmr...

I have email the LA consulates 4 times with no reply at all, but i still think they probably have read the emails.
Based on my own experience, I think every step could be delayed for unknown reasons, just be patient or keep bugging the consulate by emails. Both work, I guess.
