You can go to Canada after getting your visa but If you will reach there in advance and of a lot of time before your classes then they will probably ask you to show them the funds you have for the period you wants to stay before your classes as your study permit will be valid from start of your classes and you will not be allowed to work before it. Or they may be tell you to go back to your country and come to Canada nearly the time of your classes. So, I think you should take the rule of USA as the international student can only get in united states as early as only one month before the commencement of classes. But you should be careful in this also as they may ask you to show them the funds for the one month. Decision is yours.

It is illegal to work before your classes start. Don't start your time in Canada by breaking the law. You can arrive early but may be asked for proof of additional funds at the border to assure the CBSA officer you're not coming early to work illegally.
